In the year 1994 The Almighty Lord Jesus Christ told a missionary to start a Christian school in India. Immediately as she heard from the Lord she began her preparation to open the school. She thought of a good name “MAHIMA” as she wanted each child to give glory to God for all what he has done in their life and will be doing in their life. This missionary’s name was Miss Kong Sookja (Korean Nationalist). She first started the journey alone but god sent her a helper who is also the principal of the school in this decade Mrs. Annamma Matthews. On July, 15th year 1996 Mahima school was established.

With just one teacher Mrs. Annamma Matthews and 4 children. It was located in Koparkhairne, Sector 23 in a small residential plot. As the years went by the school shifted itself to a well and furnished row house. And as the years went by the students also increased in numbers. The Pre-Primary section which begun was the first in Koparkhairne it also received appreciation from the parents. Miss Kong Sookja wanted each child in India to have a better way of speaking English She introduced and American Curriculum “A-Beka” for the students from Nursery. The children could speak well and as well read within a year.

As the years went by the primary section of the school began in 2000. Primary section in the beginning was American Curriculum but as the years went by we had to introduce the SSC syllabus as it was necessary to get our registration done. The paper work and everything was done and today the school is well registered till the 10th standard with SSC syllabus as its main stream. The students strength has increased from 4 to 200 in the past 16 years.
